M?ori Presents MICHAEL JAMES MANAIA, October 12-28

For the first time in Melbourne, fortyfivedownstairs and New Zealand's national M?ori theatre company Taki Rua partner to present the Australian premiere of Michael James Manaia by John Broughton - described as "a poignant story about a New Zealand man who returns from the Vietnam War struggling with his culture and history."

Fresh from a critically acclaimed season at the New Zealand International Arts Festival, this new staging of Michael James Manaia is led by a powerhouse solo performance by Te Kohe Tuhaka, and directed by award-winning director Nathaniel Lees.

Michael James Manaia is a Taki Rua Production, presented by fortyfivedownstairs in association with the Melbourne Festival.
